Just picked up s 21 GX 460 for the wife, and need some advice on where other owners mount a cell phone holder other than suction cup on windshield.

I have tried many different mounts including some I 3D printed. The version I like the best uses a RAM ball mounted to the lower grab handle bolt.
This is very secure (no vibration at all) does not obstruct any controls, vents or vision.

 

I have experimented with a lot of phone mounts and I think the best one is from proclip. It is more expensive than the stuff from Amazon but it's worth it. I also got the phone holder that has a built-in magnetic charger. I think this is what's preventing me from getting the apple car play because it is so convenient, one hand to put on or remove the phone.

I'm happy with my Offroam mount. Wireless charging, easy attach magsafe holder and wires can easily be routed via trim surrounding start button. Check out pic of my set up here. Other options to look at within the same thread.

 

Offroam for sure, a bit pricey though. Make sure you get a longer arm

 

I purchased a mount that inserts into the CD slot. So far so good

 

I got the AONKEY Cell Phone Holder. Just silicon that 'sticks' to the dash. No glue or magnets. Maybe not the most elegant but you can just put it on and take it off - no mounting or anything or damage to the the dash. Also under $15 so you can just try it with out much fuss or expense and see if she likes it
