Structural, you also do realize then when you go down prolonged downhills, you don't ride your brakes right? You would use engine braking with the transmission to slow down/keep your speed under control.

I feel like you're just trying to find something "wrong" with your car for some reason.

Sir,

We have had 2 GX470 without any issues. The brakes were just fine, the transmission was just fine.

Bravo! I'm sure if we pounded on the pedals, switches, buttons and levers long enough and hard enough eventually some light would go on or some alarm would sound. So what?
Regards,

Unhappy GX 460 Hissing noise when braking

Ever since we got our 2012 GX, we hear a hissing noise whenever we brake to a stop. Does yours do this? Turn the radio off, and brake at a stop sign...do you hear it? The dealer didnt know what it was. We took another GX off the new car lot and it did the same thing. It sounds like air releasing when you brake.

I did a post on that in the "Whine" thread but there was no response. Well, I probably shouldn't have asked the question because it did not relate to the thread subject. Anyway, it's interesting that the noise is still there, at least on some GX's.

Yes. Mine makes the same sound, I think its air passing through a rubber boot connected to the brake lever.

i think there are few live cobras near the brake pads. ha ha ha. I will check tonight on the hissing noise.

I did not notice the noise when we were on the 3500 mile trip which ended Saturday.

just press the pedal with the car running. you should hear it. they all do it. if you have the radio off and fan speed on low you can hear it every time you brake.
