We still have our 2006 T4R along with our two GXs. I loved everything about the 4R until I drove the GX. 4Runner always felt tight since I’m 6’ tall and my husband is 6’5”. What a hassle to find a vehicle that we could fit in to! GX is roomier, ride is quiet, solid, smooth and plush. Plus little things like BSM and Park Assist make your everyday driving a lot easier. I still drive the 4Runner to work 4-5 days every month and I get excited every time I get to go back to driving the GX. Pretty pathetic, but I can’t help it. Good luck with your decision!

I’m completely opposite from OP.

i had captains chair on my past van and suv and I absolutely hated therm. They aren’t as useful as a bench and are only good for passing through the 3rd row. Lack of large cup holders goes suck.

i feel that the non-ML sound system has too much bass, so much that i turned down the bass. Maybe it is not enough high and mid. The ML system on my other vehicle has less bass than the GX. The touch screen is just as fast as my other toyota lexus touchscreen.

At first, i had many doubts about the barn door and at some point it was somewhat of deciding factor when choosing cars. But after having it for few month, it is a Non issue. I really dont prefer one or the other.

lack of 2nd row power connection does suck. But there are so many cheap remedies. You can either run an extension cord from the trunk or from the cigarette lighter. I personally run a plug from cigarette that have an AC and few usb plug and small neough to hide in plain sight. Not a deal breaker at all. Even my sienna did not have a 2nd row plugs, but had 2 cig plug in the front?!

what i really hsye about the GX is the gas mileage. I’m averaging about 15-16 and i could actually see the needle dropping when I’m on the freeway. But i love everything else about the GX with no regrets.
