Replacing the leather skins is not difficult, it is just time consuming. Make sure you get a bunch of hog rings, a decent hog ring cutter as well as a hog ring plier (to reinstall). As for the cushions, if you want to reuse the old ones, a trick I have used to restore the seat foam was to use a steam machine. The high temperature steam will spring back the foam as well as sanitize it and remove odors.
I recently got a 2011 GX and cosmetically, it's pretty good with the exception of the driver's seat. Been looking around for a reasonably inexpensive way to make the leather look a little better and came across this leather recoloring kit.
Does anyone have experience with this? Or recommend something else?
Thanks for your help!
I know you are staying on the cheap side but I would just buy a new bottom cover. Their not too bad. Re dying the leather is not going to last long and won’t match the seat back exactly.

That's definitely an option. Do you have a source you recommend?
I don't know if dealers do this as a service, but when we looked at '13 GX that had just come in off trade, the front seat was way worse than that. They said they could get it cleaned up so I put a deposit on it as a CPO. When we came back 2 days later it looked good, not perfect, but totally reasonable. Its been a little over a year and half and the seat still looks pretty good, esp. for over 8 yrs old, but I am pretty careful getting in an out. But not sure if that is something they do retail or just to recon trade ins.

I’ve restored three Lexus leather seats in different colors, getting the dye from leather renew.com. It’s been a perfect match every time and has lasted as long as it took the original to wear to the same state.
here’s my wife’s 2013 RX seats after the repair two weeks ago. they looked much the same as the OPs above, before I started.
I've had this in my Amazon cart for a few years now. Obviously it's Ecru, but I think they have other shades. Look at it and check out the reviews... they probably have it in your shade also.
