Curious to see the breakdown of folks who have a preference in tail light lens color...

 

I don't like clear tail lights at all. I guess I see too many of them on Civics and Accords around here.

 

I didn't know clear tail lights were legal....look like a car going the wrong way.

 

Red.....the Clear are overdone.

 

Lexus broke the market with the Altezza tail lights on the IS200 and the automotive aftermarket (and Pep Boys) was never the same. Personally I don't mind the clear but it is a matter of aesthetic opinion.

 

My 2015 has the clear lens. I'm not really a fan of them and would prefer Red..... they look like some cheezy clear lens you'd order off ebay from china. But it wasn't a deal breaker on buying a Awesome vehicle. We Love our GX

 

Same here. I actually tried to buy a 2013 to get the old front end and red tails, but had a hard time finding one in as good of condition as the 2014 we ended up with.

If anyone's got red tails laying around that they want to get rid of, PM me!!!

Question: is there any color difference between the red pre-facelift (2013 & beyond) and the red tail lights on the 2017 sport package? I haven't seen a 2017 in person, so I can't tell if they look darker because of the lighting effect in the picture.

I got a sport mainly for the red tailights. I don't have any proof, but to me the sport tailights seem to be a shade darker than the older red tailights.

 

They do look a bit darker, like the red in the '08, 09 GX470. Looks like they just flipped the backup light 180deg LOL... I like the it though.

 

I didn't realize Sport Design was standard on all models in Canada.

I almost passed on this truck due to the white lights but was able to get over it. Now I am just ok with it, still think Red is nicer.

 

I have seen SMD LEDs on the rear tail lights of the 2017 LX570.

Does the 2014 thru 2017 GX460 tail lights utilize a bulb shaped LEDs or the SMD LEDs?

Does anyone have a 2017 GX460 F-sport with the Red tail lights? Please check to see if they are upgraded to the SMD LEDs.
