As some of us, most of us, wait out winter storm Jonas that is causing record snowfalls on the east coast, I went out earlier to witness the storm firsthand in my GX460 and here are some of my thoughts. And if anyone else would like to share your experience, please remember that without pictures, it did not happen...
This is what I had to look forward to in front of me. After warming up the suv, I shifted to N, then 4lo and locked the center differential. Went through it like it wasn't even there.
Looking for a way to get stuck, and may have found it.
Got stuck a little. It took about 5 minutes to free itself, even in 4lo and center diff locked.

Typical street today, hardly any vehicles on the road. I did see a few Land Cruisers, a LX 570, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a few other awd cars/crossovers. Those with awd cars had their wheels spinning faster than they were moving. Could be their tires too.
Snow and lots of it.
The difference between leaving it in 4hi, 4lo, and locking the center diff is very noticeable in the snow. Leaving it in 4hi (regular mode), you can feel the vehicle transferring power to the wheels and a little pull to the side, depending on how hard you press the accelerator, depth level of snow. In 4lo, the pulling is not as noticeable. And in 4lo + center diff locked, you feel VERY secure and stable. Of course, all of this was done in slow speed through the streets.
Gotta say, these Michelin LTX MS2 are really good. They performed very well in the snow.

here in suburbs, we got over 2 feet of snow. No way GX can drive thru it. dont get over confident. Ive gotten stuck before many times in the GX, even with the michelins on my 2010.
my current 2014 still has original oem. No issue with them so far.
I took my GX out both nights in peak of the snow storms and the truck was flawless. I also tried to get it stuck in the some really deep stuff, at least 2ft deep and turned off the skid and transaction control, rocked the vehicle and once I had some momentum, out she went. This truck is seriously capable but make no mistake about it, tire choice is crucial. These new michelin LTX MS/2's i'm running are excellent!
Nice pics! I woke up to more than 2.5 feet with the snow drift and plow trucks on my drivers side and saw every single one of neighbors shoveling their cars out for hours. I simply threw the truck in Lo and Locked the Diff as well and had to rock her a couple of times, but simply just drove off! I might have to buy out this truck after the lease is over! I love this truck!
We got 30' snow where I am, plus 4' drifts, I parked my GX in the Garage and as of this posting it's still in there, didn't feel like going out. But the times I have been out in deep snow up in NH it performed flawlessly. Today I am driving my Chevy 2wd van, it was blocking the garage and there is no room on the street parking so it was just easier to take it to work today.
Nice, I've never had any problems getting around in my 2010 or 2014. I also have the Michelin LTX M/S2's.
We only had 3.5" of snow here last week. Great pics!
34" Inches here and did okay in my '15 GX with OEM tires. I got stuck a few times on unplowed streets and buried it down to the frame but I knew it was bound to happen.

+1 on the Michelin LTX's - I Didn't bother to shovel, I just pulled mine out in 4Lo, the snow had drifted to about 30" around the vehicle. I blazed a trail for me and my neighbors other vehicles.
Is the Michelin LTX tire you are all raving about a Winter/Snow tire or no? Is it the other OEM tire along with the Bridgestone Dueler (that came on my 2015 car)
