I was in a similar situation trying to sort out new tires and wheels.
Ended up going with the TRD Pro wheels in matte black with 265/70/17 Falken Wild Peaks.
I can confirm 2 things with this tire/wheel combo. 1) Wheel will fit in the factory spare location and 2) Minor rubbing on the front of the front passenger side wheel well and on the back of the front wheel wells on both the driver and passenger sides and full turn.
Heat gun and flat headed bolts should sort out the issues.
If you had gone with 255/70/17 or 260/70/17 would there be rubbing?
Install day finally came today. Ironman4x4 nitro lift kit. 2.5" front, 2" in the rear. Plus added 275/65/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers (32") and had the front brake rotors and pads replaced as well. Old ones were warped and vibrated on braking. Only driven 20-30miles so far, but consider me happy for now. Ended up with a total of 8cm of lift (a bit over 3"), which isn't all that noticeable when driving. Even the wife didn't notice much of a difference, which is good since she drives it more than I do! Ride doesn't feel all that much stiffer than stock. Tires are quiet on the road, even at high speed. I barely detect a soft 'whirring' sound compared to the Michelin Defenders they replaced. I thought I was free from joining the rub club, until I backed out of a drive way curb at full lock and heard some loud rubbing. Can't figure out where it's coming from but may need to do a little heat massaging in the near future.
Also, measured a 1.5cm lean towards the front passenger and 1cm to the rear passenger, same as I had with stock. Not concerned since it isn't all that much and was taken without any driver-side weight and a only half tank of gas. Will see if there is any lean issues in the future.
Think I found source of my run; front passenger, inner front wheel well. Should I remove lower rubber flap prior to heat gun treatment then reattach? Of just remove those flaps completely?

I ended up borrowing a heat gun and pushing the front fender linings away from the tire as much as possible and then reattaching the rubber flaps. Gave me a little more clearance, maybe 1.5cm between edge of tire and rubber flap. Hopefully that will be enough.
I replaced my stock tires with General Grabber AT/X 265/70/18 after installing Ironman FCP 2.5" lift kit. Did not do the heat gun technique, instead just pushed the fender liner forward/backward. Created tons of space. I could have gone bigger tires as you can see. Overall, am happy with the ride. The wife noticed the "climb" to her seat. Big gap with the wheel turned. No rubbing here either. That's it for now...
just installed these wheels and new tires. probably one of best looking toyota wheels ever. love them! center caps awaited.
same size and offset but seem to arch out more than the original lexus split spokes from side view.
same OEM tire size. 265-60-18 michelin defenders

Reason: ....
After spending hours on this thread I finally pulled the trigger on the wife's rig. Black Rhino Zion 6 20X9's wrapped in Goodyear Eagle II 285/50R20. Turned out really good and definitely doesn't look like a granny mobile anymore. Here's a little before and after action.
Looks great. You didn't mention but I assume you had to do the usual rubbing abatement with this tire
TerrainContact A/T 265/65/18 way quieter than KO2 and stable for highway rain driving. Wanted Beefier Tire but did not want to mess with Lexus experience too much.
you said they are more quiet than the KO2, are they quiet in general? I'm with you, I still use my GX as a highway cruiser a lot and don't want to feel like I'm in DC-3
