Anyone running a 4K camera? I was thinking of upgrading my Transcend to this,

I could use the old camera for the rear.

This is what I am using mow. Not 4K, but I found quality is pretty good with original avi format. Getting license information and other general details without any issue. But posting via youtube with compression has huge impact on quality. This is what I am using:

I chose a Street Guardian unit based on the great reviews and I have not been disappointed.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I am currently running an invsacord off the mirror to power my radar detector. You think I can tap the same power source to power my dash cam without overloading the circuit? or should I wire the dashcam from a separate power source?
The dash cam doesn’t take alot of power so if you can squeeze another invosacord to the mirror connectors or get a splitter (do they make one?), that would work. Otherwise just run along the headline down the A pillar to the fuse box with a Tap a Fuse.

A lot of dash-cams run off USB type power (5V) so you would need their dashcam cord
Bad day for the deer and the Honda. Good day for me and my GX to be a few seconds behind. I have noticed the new Rexing 4K dash cam has a significantly better microphone than my last camera.

Looks like from this old Koz post the following was added as well on the '12s
"• New rearview mirror with illuminated garage door opener buttons"
I was aware rearview mirror was different as electrical connector was different as tecman reported on his '11. I hand't notice the illuminated garage door opener buttons though

I am considering install a 2ch dash cam but not sure if I should do it myself or pay an installer for the job. It seems routing rear cam cable require removing several panels including rear door.
1. Do you have to remove the garnish trims near roof or you can just pry a gap to stuck the cable in?
2. How do you guys run your wires in back?
3. If I have an installer do it, how much do you think it will cost? Does dealer do this?
4. Can you recommend me an installer in Southern California area who is familiar with our car? I hate to have a bunch of broken clips or scratched panel.

We got ours installed by Audio Dreams in La Verne. They are a distributor for BlackVue dash cams. 4K BlackVue DR900S-2CH $500 installed. They did a very nice install job. Recommend. Picture quality is outstanding.
Thank you for the information. Is the $500 labor only? How much did you pay for the parts? Where did they mount the rear camera? Is it on the rear door upper garnish trim?
