SaniDel Thank you for those words of encouragement. The Rx the dealer loaned me as my Gx was worked on was nice, but really missed the GX and was glad to get It back after two weeks only to find all the same issues persisted minus the frequency in the shaking of the wheel. I truly hope this issue isn't one that will span months. (but something tells me it's going too) The GX just hit 3,000 miles and thus far all have been problematic. I'm frustrated in that no one can give me any answers, I just want it fixed. The gentleman I had spoken with in California was going to speak with the regional technician and schedule a time were he can come to my home or I bring the Gx to the dealership for him to diagnose. I can tell you everyone around me is tired of me complaining about the car, and the ones that arn't are informing me of thier feelings towards what they feel was a bad decision to purchase the Gx. So I will keep you all posted as the saga continues.
if theyve checked everything then the only thing left is the drivetrain and engine, all the rotating parts should be checked as there is a balance issue obviously somewhere in the vehicle
Good Luck! Had 2010 with the issue and after 9 months of fighting, the dealer put me in identical 2011 for $2K which was a nice gesture. The 2011 drove better but the issue was still there. Due to shortage of them right now due to the earthquake in Japan I took an opportunity to sell it for a great offer from the dealer.

I agree I feel this issue is in the drive-train and/or engine. The characteristics it's exhibiting are very similar to what my Explorer did and that ended up being the driveshaft out of balance damaging both my front differential and transmission.

I hope this doesn't turn out the same. The truck fit my needs but is truly loosing it's charm very quickly. The LX has sparked my interest but seems to be to "much" suv for me and RX to small. So I'm left pondering.

Out of curiosity, is this vibration felt at all speeds and you can feel it in the steering wheel?
I had the same problems with my 2010 and had it in the service 5 times. I called and ask about lemon law and they send me paper work but I never sent them back. After 3 weeks of not hearing from me, they called and told me they were going to purchase the truck back. After all was done. we went and looked at everything out there. Couldnt find anything that match the gx60. The GX has both nice interior and exterior. The only suv that match was a 2011 Porsche Cayenne but price was almost 100k. we end up buying a Infiniti m37, Now i kind of regret selling it back. I should of just settled with the steering wheel slightly vibrating-shaking. Maybe there will be a tsb sooner or later. Goodluck.
I do not own a 2011 Lexus GX 460. But I will in about 2-3 months. I am enthusiastic about it - need to sell the current '05 ES 330 first. Anyway, I know Lexus stands for quality and durability but when I hear the issue of Risa and AllCruise horror stories, I am terrified that this could possibly occur with the one I have lined up for me! Chances are slim but having to deal with talking to managers, GM's, service advisors, CEO's of Toyota, Loaners, time off work etc. These create headaches fit for no one!
Remember Lexus' tagline ... the Pursuit of Perfection? They aren't there, they never will be ... but neither will any vehicle manufacturer. Buy any vehicle and you may have bought a problem, but who does a better job of solving problems than Lexus?
We've owned ten Lexus vehicles, one at a time, but two of the ten were replacements for defective units and one of the replacements was free ... and an LX to boot! No, I didn't enjoy dealing with the GM of the dealership about this, holding their loaner vehicle hostage while they decided what to do and worrying what will happen ... those are indeed headaches fit for no one! What I do remember is how amazed and delighted we were when the GM called and said to bring back their loaner as our new LX was ready for us ... at no cost.
I am not alone in this ... the post preceding yours is equally impressive. That is typical of Lexus ... if they can't solve the problem they own the problem and bought it back. If I may quote 'bigred88' ... "Couldn't find anything that matched the GX ..."
Regards,

Yes this vibration can be felt at all speeds, and feel it in the steering wheel. Now under acceleration thier is a funny noise coming from under the car. I've sent another email to Lexus so hopfully I will get somewhere since they never contacted me back.

I agree I really did my homework before settling on the GX. Currently there is nothing on the market to match the GX altough the Q7 is nice. I could live with the slight vib in the wheel but this thing shimmies down the road and like I stated makes a "funny" noise under acceleration. I can even feel this sensation in the gas pedel. But I'm confident this issue will be resolved if not they will buy it back (hopefully) as Sanidel states no one does a better job of solving problems like Lexus.
Well, good luck JonsGX460. Let us know what happens. Maybe you should print this thread and give it to Lexus to see what they say? That it just isn't you.

Thank Frank69m I will keep everyone posted. That is a great Idea I may just do that.
Is this problem related only to Base models?
I have a 2011 Premium and no vibration of any kind, even at high speeds.
I don't believe it's isolated to only base models, I know a few other members with GX Premium's and they to have had the issue.
Finally got a call back from the service manager at Burdick Lexus. The service manager informed me Lexus has taken interest in knowing what is causing this issue and would rather have this "issue" taken care of at the factory and not out on the field...Ok that's great, so what is the "issue". Well that's the question; we are not sure.......Anyway the Gx will be picked up Wednesday morning and a loaner dropped off. Thursday the "specialist" will look at it and go from there. I'm so frustrated and just want this over and my truck fixed.....Is that to much to ask? This has been going on now since March!
Kinda funny, but if you look at Consumer Reports for the GX, it got a bunch of solid blacks on the Drivetrain. Although this was for the 470, might be an indicator of your vibration issues. As some have said and you have said, point them to the driveshaft.
So, when you test drove it, it didn't have the vibrations?
