I placed a special order on a 2011 GX Premium, red/black with a couple options. ML/Nav, wide-view front/side monitor sys w/crawl control, PA (mandatory), tow hitch and roof rail cross bars. Hope I see it by November.

I can't believe a $60K+ vehicle does not come with the cross bars!

Sounds nice! I too find it odd that Lexus makes the cross bars optional. Be sure to post pics when you take delievery.

Did your dealer already have 2011 prices and configurations. If I may ask, what was the price of the class IV tow hich.

Is it complete with the external tran's cooler, 7 pin harness and brake controller hookup by the drivers left hand footwell.

I have a 2004 V8 LTD 4WD 4th Gen T4R with this equipment (know your story from another forum) and agree with your needing a V8.

 

There are no prices yet for the 2011. I signed a contract for $1500 over invoice so it really doesn’t matter. I could have got a 2010 for invoice. I had another offer for $1000 over invoice but the stealer was playing games. The contract had several added items (Such as etched glass) that were mandatory with the sale that added up to $500. He also wanted a $5K non refundable deposit. I told to suck wind!

The tow hitch package is approx $450, which includes a class IV WD hitch (Much nicer then the hitch on the V8 4Runner), a 7 + 4 pin harness, controller hook-up and I'm not sure about a trans cooler. I am sure that Lexus will add whatever is necessary to pull 6500 lbs and I would think there is some type of extra cooling if needed.

that is the only change for 2011, nothing else. Same with 2011 4runner.

 

I think that was included in error. The Prado has the hand grip, but the GX does not.

It will be interesting to see if they really added more wood to the center console. I doubt it... maybe the part that covers the audio controls.

 

The conversation mirror is in the upper console where you can store your sunglasses.

This mirror allows you to view second and third row passengers without having to turn around.

 

Thanks, I never knew it was there. I doubt that I will ever use it...
