Default No cooler box?

As I was programming my GX 460's Homelink for the garage door (had issues, so had to consult the manual), I noticed that there's an option for a cooler box in the front. I had no idea that was even an option-and I could really use it. After Googling it a bit, I read that it's not even an option for us in the US. Why?

That is one of the options that the American market does not have. The U.S. market does hot have the power converter for the outlet in the rear of the GX that ups the wattage to 400 watts. We do not have the fourth camera on the drivers side. Two other missing options are crawl control and crawl monitor. All these are feature that I would like to see on the GX. Many cars now have 5 cameras, 3 is not sufficent.

It's very odd that they would develop these features for the GX and then totally omit them from the US market.

Even if they don't offer them as standard, they should at least be options.

the most important things they probably should of put on was a blind spot camera on each side and a side rear camera on each side when backing up. Its seems common sense is not so common with even toyota sometimes. That partial all around camera system has no use on passenger side. PCS? If it wont fully stop the car, what sense of having it?

If you want the GX with all the options that have been omitted in the US, then by all means come up here to Canada and buy the truck instead! I think the warranty is valid in the US as well.

actually ive read on the 4runner.org website that toyota canada and usa wont honor each other's warranty. the vehicles are slightly different including the dashboard - metric only in canada.

It to be that Lexus USA will honor the warranty in Canada, but that was before the Loonie was on par with the Dollar. Things might have changed now because cars are so much cheaper in the States, and the deals are so sweet (getting invoice prices, or sometimes below invoice? People are definitely dreaming about that here in Canada!), that a lot of Canadians are going down South to buy cars regardless of the current exchange rate.
