We're taking our camper south for the winter, and the GX is staying home (too bad she isn't flat towable). We will be gone about 4 months. Anything special I should do? Planned to pull the battery and stick it in the heated barn on a tender.
... #1 on my list would be a complete fill with non-ethanol gas if available, or at least a fresh fill from close to empty with Stabil added. #2 would be to flush the brake fluid if that has not been done per the recommended interval for your climate. #3 would be to replace the cabin filter with a K&N filter ... has wire mesh that will prevent mice from entering the cabin by easily chewing thru the OEM filter material.

I keep my GX in a unheated hangar in western Colorado and sometimes it is not driven for several months. I keep a battery minder connected through the OBD2 port.
Field mice are a problem so I made "mice guards" out of aluminum sheets and Velcro. I no longer find "evidence" of mice crawling around the engine compartment.
In my previous vehicle (Montero sport), the mice made a nest in the air cleaner housing; this was before the "mice guards".
I wash the truck and make sure there are no bugs, bird droppings, etc residing on the paint. I also put rags under the windshield wipers to prevent a permanent set to the blades.

***** the one and only time I ever had a mouse problem chewing up a air filter was on my Honda Goldwing. So I just put mothballs in and around that area and never had a problem since

as long as your battery has been fully charged before taking out of your vehicle and you're putting it into a warm building you really don't need to put it on a tender. It will easily last the 4 months. If you're worried about mice put mothballs in socks and put them around the outside of the vehicle not inside because you will never get rid of that mothball odor from inside your vehicle. I shove them in the exhaust pipe as well.......and I never have a problem with mice inside the cabin. Do not put anything under your windshield wipers just extend them so they're standing up in the air. Personally I've never even done that and never had a problem with my windshield wipers. And my 2007 convertible sits in my garage every winter for 6 months. Fill your gas tank to the brim so there's less chance of condensation in the tank and you stabilizer. If you have a rampant mouse problem get some rat poison and mouse traps. I've been storing my 2007 convertible since it was new and I have not had any issues. Make sure you close the windows all the way so you have no chance of anything getting inside. Mine is out in a cold garage so yes I do have a battery tender on it but I do not even disconnected from the vehicle
