@Acrad Can you please Sticky this or put the link into the official FAQ maintenance section. Its the most comprehensive one stop shop for all the fluids bumper to bumper, except missing how to add washer fluid (no biggie)

Thank you

One thing I am surprised he did not do was to drain the coolant from the two block drains. With the skid plates off and on a lift, access is not difficult.

Great post, just to make an important observation, the Transfer Case Oil which oem is the Toyota 75W LF can not be replaced with the 75w-85 or 75w-90 that AMD says on the video, the only suitable oil non OEM that I have found that cna be used is the Ravenol 75W MTF-3 (https://www.ravenolamerica.com/passe...ravenol-mtf-3/) The 75-85 or 75-90 from amsoil can onnly be used in the front and rear differentials but not the transfer case.

As for the transmission, In my personal case and just because i am very picky on maintenance, whenever i change my transmission fluid i not only drain it and fill but i remove my transmission fiilter (Strainer) part code 35330-60070 and the O-ring that the strainer uses part code 90301-31014 then fill again.

Cheers!

I believe Redline MT-LV would also be acceptable. It is more expensive than the Ravenol but probably easier to find.

https://www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-5w-3...mtf/?zo=515729
heard this rec by amsoil for the TC. Helps reduce the clunk noise when engaging/smoother.

Others include
some run 75w90 up front, 75w110 rear diff for towing/high heat applications.
Maxlife in the atf and ps
Brake fluid any brand dot

This makes no sense. How would going to 5W-30 from 75W reduce clunking? And if you are towing, this can't be good for the tc.

I did exactly that to mine and also replaced the gasket. Having the pan dropped is a no-brainer. The filter and O-ring are relatively inexpensive, and considering they will be in there for the next 60k miles (or more), it’s cheap insurance for the health of the transmission.

If you need it, here are the parts I used:

https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...330-60070.html
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...301-31014.html
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...168-60010.html

And of course Toyota WS Fluid, purchased two jugs for the job, like 1.5 quarters left

Motor oil and gear oil viscosities aren't rated on the same scale.

5W-30 Synchromesh:

75W-85 and 75W-90 gear oil:

Yes they are, from your own data the test methods are ASTM D445 and ASTM D2983. Obviously 5w-30 is thinner viscosity compared to 75w which does not answer the question why thinner oil would "reduce clunk".
