Lexus Frame Trailer Hitch does not align with camera when backing up
this means that it could be the new receiver to camera alignment or the new ball mount to camera alignment.
i think that the original ball mount was then tried and was now not aligned, thats my take based on the wording.
this means that its either a size gap issue at the tube interface (less likely but can be checked with the anti rattle hw) or an issue with the new receiver being misaligned.
plenty of toyota oem receivers are either angled/rotated or canted so this is a high probability. this is why i said to go check/measure.

I have a GX with a OEM frame hitch (installed at the port) and OEM ball mount and the red guide line is not on the ball, either. For that matter, the two pics above are nearly identical, two different GX's.

i agree that the red line isnt meant to match anything besides a distance and commented that above.
but then, looking at his images, you can see the centerline is off.
if this wasnt off before then this is an issue. your pic is straight, his is not.
if this was off before then it could be able to be adjusted with a camera adjustment.
if it wasnt off before then he could have one of the many misaligned toyota receivers
the OP mentions suspecting the tongue to be bent, would have to be some bend to impact the red distance line that much.
we dont see any images of the OPs setup ever being good, so im wondering still why he says the camera was still aligned and now the ball isnt. if its really that he only looks at the red distance line then thats not the issue at all.
if the centerline has always been off then i dont think theres a bad receiver either, in this case i think the camera shouldnt be considered aligned if by aligned its meant to look like the image you posted.

the more i read the original post the more confused i get. the image titles indicate that there are images of 3 receivers, all out of alignment. the text states that the camera is aligned.
i dont think that all 3 images are of different receivers or that the camera is aligned.
when i look at the images, the only issue i see is the blue centerline. i get that the images show a difference of the red distance, but i didnt believe that the post would be about that and not the blue.
