2014 Gx460 Leaning with error code C1731 r/f & C1732 l/f
Hello everyone,
I recently bought an old 2014 Gx460 with 100k+ miles.
It was my mistake for not taking it to an independent mechanic shop to let them checkout.
The car is leaning a little bit to the passenger side. The driver's side is 1 inch higher than the passenger side.
I recently brought the car to my nearby mechanic and asked him to see if there was any issue with the suspension.
Looking from the outside the suspension was fine.
He plugged the scanner in and found 2 errors C1731 r/f and C1732 l/f damping force control actuator circuit.
He suggested replacing both the front damping force control actuators for starter.
Will replace the actuators going to help re-level my car for sure? (My mechanic wasn't able to give me a definite answer on that)
Is the job of replacing that actuator something easy that I can do myself?
I was quoted for $1,300 and I don't want to spend that much unless is critical.
Will leaving my car leaning with the issue going to be a hazard on a long road trip or damage my car over time?
I do plan to keep it for a long time. If anyone having the same issue please let me know the best way to fix the issue.
Thank you!

There is no harm if you don't address the lean. BTW, I have a 2014 and it was leaning; the spring replacement fixed the lean. A front end alignment will be needed also.
Are you sure that you still have the AVS actuators? Many times the front struts (or rear shocks) are replaced with non-AVS components. Below is some trouble areas associated with those codes and based on the the table it sounds like the actuators might be gone based on the open circuit suggestion. So see if the actuators are in place and go from there.
There is a step-by-step procedure in the service manual to diagnose the system.

Sorry, I do not know if my AVS is original or been replaced with non-avs.
I saw that thread on the leaning and did suggest to my mechanic but he didn't say anything.
But I will try to replace that spring first to see if it will fix the issue.
Thank you Mike202!
