I have both the weathertech floor liner mats and the factory rubber ones plus the carpet ones. Just got a new set of the OEM carpet ones although they are not as nice or lush as first set that came with it. The floor liner type are perfect for winter and snow but also good for tearing up the heel of your boots. Me personally, I use the carpet ones 95% of the time and vacuum it weekly. The rubber ones are only if it is going to snow.

With degenerative arthritis in my ankles and living in Mn. working with the dogs most every week I pretty much live in boots most of the year, and have always had WT type mats.

Everything from custom Russell Moccasin Grand Slam Sheep Hunters built 2" taller for bogs to semi dress boots

Kenetrek Everstep Ortho which are the Mountain Extreme with ankle braces

Crispi boots with Ankle Bone Support System are my go to everyday boots

But for the office and dress am a bit of a Cordovan Shell hoe and wear both dress boots and shoes in Shell. Yes, I often wear boots with a suit especially in the winter. Rare Walnut Shell

And of course the more common #8 shell, AKA Cordovan

Never had an issue with rubber mats wearing the heels on any of them. It may be time to look at some different boots? I'm guessing you're talking about soft rubber heels

I only wear cowboy boots and am 6’’02”, so the seat is far back. I’ve found that the right heel gets scratched up if there is any dirt on the mat. Kind of the same area where some factory carpet mats have the vinyl or leather patch on them. On a rare occasion I will wear snow boots but not often.

Those lace ups are pretty sweet though!

Just be careful that whatever you buy isn't harder than the plastic side molding or it will scratch over time.

I have weathertech, front, rear, cargo. They work great. I keep them in in winter and use factory premium floor mats the rest of the year.

I just installed the Husky X-Act on the front and back Fit is fantastic. I usually get WeatherTech but saw reviews about the Husky providing more coverage.

Replaced front Lexus weather matts with Weather-Tech floor liner matts. Have had them in my last 3 cars. Fit great, easy to clean. One word of caution, make sure when you put the liner in on drivers side, the liner goes UNDER the gas peddle.. I accidentally put it over the gas peddle. Will never make that mistake again!!!

I have had the Weather Tech in my last 3 Lexus's. They hold up very well & have a good fit. Price for what you get is fair.
