My driver side rear light was out. I decided to replace with 194 LEDs all around. The passenger side went well, the drivers not so good.
On the rear the original bulb was corroded and stuck in place. Green corrosion, almost like gum actually or something you’d see at the battery terminal. I’m looking to replace the harness component. I tried to take the bulb out but it was glued in there and I basically destroyed the terminals, wiring looks good, but the harness is toast. is this the right part ?https://www.lexuspartsdirect.ca/p/Le...138060010.html
Looks like it. I had thought that the front + rear, left + right each had separate part numbers (4 in all) but maybe the right front and the left rear are the same.
The part above is incorrect. For anyone that needs to replace the lamp bulb housing/socket you have to replace the whole wiring harness. OEM part # is: 8215860010. I called the dealer and the part is $150.
After doing some more digging over at some 4Runner forums, I found out that parts diagrams don’t list the running board wiring components. The socket piece though is the same as the socket component for backup lights:
That’s what my part looks like. But when I look at Lexus parts, I get a different part #:
Has anyone done this repair before? Which part should I go with?
