Key Programming help! Dealer says I need a new ECU!

It would have to be read. If it is a key with the remote fob then it is most likely a master. You need a 4D68 tp29 chip for a Lexus master. The valet and master keys have different chips.

Awesome. I did notice that when I hooked up techstream, it recognized my ecu as a landcruiser. Would that complicate things?

.You should be able to manually choose your vehicle from the drop down menu.
