Default 2004 GX470 Rotors.

Hello everyone,

Would you be able to help me in choosing good rotors for my GX470? My mechanic advised me to get drilled rotors. Does anyone know a good kit(drilled) of a good brand to buy? Are drilled rotors better?
If you have a link for good quality drilled rotors, that would be awesome. I've seen something about Power Stop rotors here but not very much.

Thank you.

1). www.rockauto.com
2). input your make model etc
3). search which rotor fits your budget
4). select power stop if you want.

Anyone that says drilled./slot rotors improves performance hasnt done research on rotor/brake technology. Its 2019 so many things has changed and the term "gas" filling between the rotor and pads has been "fixed"

Me personally i would simply run blanks as they can hold more heat before cracking.... hence why i run blanks on my S2000 with Project mu clubracer pads.

X2, the rotor's job is to be a heat sink, a blank rotor has more material than a cross drilled, and between holes rotors can crack more easily. Brake pads don't off-gas the same way they did 20 years ago. Cross drilled rotors are more for looks than anything else these days. Brembo or Raybestos blanks or another good name rotor is the way I'd go, try and avoid Made in China stuff if you can.

I put Brembo rotor blanks (not slotted or cross-drilled) and Akebono Performance pads on my GX470 about 2 years ago. Has been a great combination with very little brake dust and no warping of rotors. I put the same combination on my GS400 6 years ago and they are still going strong with no warping of the rotors, or need for pad replacement. I am not hard on brakes though and don't drive aggressively.

Thank you for advice guys. What is the price for the set you put 2 years ago? And where can I buy it? Or do you have part numbers?
Thank you.

I bought them at tirerack.com. Can't remember the price, but it probably hasn't changed that much.

You might want to check Camelback Toyota. They have great discounted prices on OEM equipment. You will likely have to get the Lexus part number before calling them to get the price. I have found most Lexus parts are interchangeable with Toyota. You might be able to find the Lexus part number online through the Longo Lexus parts website.

https://parts.longolexus.com/

https://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/pa...?siteid=214329

Shipping prices might get a little expensive though...

The code: twpartz will save an additional 3% when ordering online through Camelback.
