Default Remote start using factory key...

Has anyone tried this system out??? It’s a remote start system that uses the oem keys. You just push the lock button 3 times.

I would be interested in this if it is proven to be compatible with the aftermarket units. Can't beat the price! What is the range on this one?

It says the range is the same as stock. But they offer a kit for $259 that comes with 2 lcd remotes(black chrome) that use an fm signal and then your key just stays a key and you use the remote. The range is then extended tremendously.

Stock key range is brutal, if I need to leave the warmth of the house to use the command start, what's the point?

Put the key up next to your head. That extends the range a lot

Pointless if you don't have the range. Most the aftermarket units are nice as you can start car a 1000ft away in your office or bedroom and can be had for less than $100.

I’ve been working on cars for 2 decades as a career. I’ve been taking stuff apart since I was old enough to hold a wrench. Lol

this install is going to take between 8-10hrs if I bust my ***. So adding a video or photo isn’t going to happen.
I’m also doing this on a 4Runner. If I like the way it works I’m going to buy one for my Lexus.

I may do do a walkthrough if I put one on my GX.

But like I said. I’ll let you know how the 4Runner turns out.
Its a 2006 4Runner limited... so it’s pretty close to the Gx design.
I will update you after may 14th(moms birthday).... I’ll also add any steps that I feel are tricky.

do you trust wiring a $100 aftermarket eBay remote start into your Lexus?

id much rather have an integrated system than a piggyback... just simply because of the cost of our factory modules.

But too each their own..

Damn this install would take that long? Thats way more involved than I thought this would be. I definitely want to hear how well it works when you're done.

Yep sure do and have done it to multiple lexus over the years and have functioned perfectly for the 4-6yrs I have kept them. In fact two of them were refurbished $17 Avital remote start keyless entry systems.

This system you are showing is no different than any other really as far as the remote start function and they sell these on ebay.... still has to tap into the same stuff it just retains the ****ty factory key remote that sucks in range and sucks in quality overall....
