Default Proper Way to Drain Coolant

To do a really complete coolant drain I know to open the radiator and both engine block drains. I know to have your heat temp set to max hot. My question is, "Do I need to set the rear temp control to 'hot' as well?"

It won't likely make much difference for draining it, but to do a proper flush you would want that valve set to full hot.

The only solution for pollution is dilution.

Just dilute the old coolant with new coolant. As long as you are able to remove 80-90% of it youre okay.

Drain the radiator, 2 side plugs, and theres a coolant line that i disconnected near the oil filter that runs to the top of the engine in front of it.. once disconnected it drained a lot of coolant. ~1 gallon.
