I don't think the 2003's had the secondary air injection pump (maybe for the California market??) that runs for a few seconds after startup.

Find a piece of hose and have a friend position one end near parts like the alternator (don't get it caught in the fan or the belt!) while you listen at the other end. This should help you narrow it down.

Chip is correct our 2003 models do not have a secondary air pump. I could barely hear the noise, but I know when the belt tensioner gets weak it will make all kinds of noise! When the engine is cold, pull on the belt near the tensioner, it should be damn tight. When its running it does have indicators showing where the tensioner is at.l Just a suggestion.

I would sometimes hit the belt with silicon spray/WD40 and if that addresses the problem, I would replace it shortly after.
