Good Road Trip
Purchased a 2007 this spring. Replaced the shocks with conventional (OEM too $$$) and replaced the rear air suspension. New front axles. Mounted a hitch to the existing (factory) six bolt sites. Driving to NC from Pensacola, FL (750 mi). No big deal. I intend to tow a Mini Cooper (~3000 lbs) on a rented tow dolly one-way. Wish me luck.
I forgot to ask what gear to use while towing?
Thanks

No Issues
1800 miles round trip. Averaged 18.8 on the way up and 16.9 back with the load. Not too bad. I used 4 gear off the interstate and used D when I got to cruising speed on the interstate. I toggled the cruise control off on hills because I didn't like the control downshifting and upping the rpm to 3K on hills. Overall a successful trip (except for the normal family stress)

Pole Position
Glad you had a good trip. I-10 on the Florida Panhandle is surprisingly hilly, and any vehicle's cruise control will over-react to them.
