Default by pass orange running lights

Good afternoon everyone!

Is it possible to by pass the orange running lights? I know they are the turn signals as well so I cant just take the bulbs out. I would like to be able to run complete stealth at night. Any feed back would be awesome!

ALSO:

I need some new brakes pads for my 2006 gx470. Can I get them at AutoZone? can somebody recommend what I need to buy, brake pads are getting pretty low!

Thanks!
Lawless

The Techstream software can supposedly disable the DRLs.

I bought the Techstream cable and software off of amazon. Had a heck of a time getting it up and running, but once I did, I was able to turn off my DRL’s. Love it! There are other customizations you can do once you are in Techstream.
If you don’t want to do that, take it to a Lexus or Toyota Dealership and pay them to turn them off.

I personally would not buy brake pads at autozone, but they probably carry them. You might consider getting performance brake pads and rotors. The cost is not that different, but the performance you can get plus the added life of the pads and rotors compared to OEM replacements is well worth the time and money. Tire Rack and many other’s carry Power Stop and other brands. I recently put Power Stops pads and rotors and the difference from OEM is very noticeable. You can expect anywhere from 10-30% increase in stopping ability while deminishing brake fade. ( great for mountain roads and sporty driving) Power Stop has a “1 Click” deal on their brakes, it’s a all inclusive deal, pads, rotors, all the little parts you need and even a little brake grease. Although I didn’t think it came with enough so I bought more brake grease.
Hope this helps. Have a great day!

Thank you everyone! What do you think the dealership would charge to turn off the DRL?

Just realized what DRL stands for : Daytime Running Lights, you learn something new everyday

It's all the fault of the Canadians.
(really!)

Dealer will probably charge a half-hour's labor, so likely in the $70-90 range.

Not the clowns by me. This will be a $200-300 job at least. That's why I hate those SOBs. The only time I'll ever step foot into a dealership is to do a factory recall.

Try going to a Toyota Dealership, they can do the service and probably will not charge as much...probably. Lol

Running moonshine? Stealthy at night means you can't be easily seen. Could be easily hit by someone.

You might try purchasing the cable and software, gives you the option of turning them back on if you wish. Plus, I paid about $35 for the cable and software, so that’s MUCH cheaper than a Stealership

I do a lot of hunting, and I like being able to creep to my stand with out all the animals seeing the lights shinning through the field.

The dealer can do it right in the service bay you pull into--bring the laptop out and hook up, its done in about 10 minutes or less!!
