Strange Noise From Behind Dash
So I was riding with no music on--had family in from out of town--and noticed a strange noise coming from behind the dash on the driver's side. Hard to describe but almost a liquid-type noise (although not a liquid) and repetitive. Doesn't happen all of the time but happens frequently. Not loud enough to hear over music or even road noise on a highway.
Almost a swoosh, swoosh with sort of clicking.
Wish I could describe it better.

Check any of the online parts sites, look up either HVAC or dashboard and look where the dampers are located to control air flow. That swish and clicking noise sounds like that, go through the manual settings on the system to open and close air flow, dash, vents, windshield, recirc and off and see if the noise changes or goes away.

Also a clogged A/C drain tube, with some condensate sloshing in the ducting.

turn off the recirc button the noise goes away. Do you know how to access the dampers and where they are located in the dash??
Thanks,

[QUOTE=bkasson;9305531]Alan- my clicking noise only happens when I engage the recirc button and A/C. As soon as you

There ya go, the recirc flow damper and servo is behind the glove box, this was not a Diy Job for me, something about cpu for airbags behind there....definitely need to d/c the battery...tight in there. My first GX was an 04, took out CD player and I could see the servo continuing to turn after the damper closed, the gears would be clicking. I think I paid Lexus 225 to replace it?

I was absolutely convinced there ere mice in my dash because of how it sounded. The way I figured it out was by slapping the dash which would have scared the mice into silence, but the noise remained unchanged.
