I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I got a remote start and I just wanted everyones inputs! I know there are threads on this topic but most of them are dated so I wanted a current view on the remote start for the GX!

I had them in my Acura Legend cars back in the day. CODE in the 1990 & a Viper in the 1992 Legend. Worked great, but I'd be paranoid as heel to add one to this GX

 

Added the prestigauto start about 6 years ago, got a miata and the trade off was relinquishing the truck to outside. I start it 5 minutes before I go out in the winter, seats are warm and heat is just starting....love it...yea gas milage is now pitiful but my butt is toasty.

 

Do you lock/unlock with the oem remote or the Prestigeauto remote?

 

You'd lose the ability to lock and unlock the car with the fob if the car was running, from what I was told. I was told by our remote start guy at work to have a Viper 4203 system installed. It's a small one button system and doesn't add a big bulky fob to your key ring.

 

It unlocks the drivers door with the first push of the button and starts it with tho second push. If I want both open before I start it I use the OEM and then the remote start Button. When you get in you turn ignition on, touch brake and pushe memory select button on door to put steering g wheel and seat to preset.

 

I will be installing a viper in the summer to prep for next winter...

i have RS on almost all my cars... its a pain to have to carry another remote on the key, but the range is so much better with aftermarket... i can start the car close to a mile away with open view to the car...
