2006 gx470 rear door hinge to strut conversion?
Hi I was looking through this site and came across a picture of what looks to be a gx that has a strut instead of the hinge like the 2006 has. Does anyone know of an aftermarket strut that can replace the hinge? I live on a hill and that door flies open with some force so I'm looking for any way to slow it down. I called the dealership and they did not have any options in their system, also searched the internet some and did not find anything. I'm new to Lexus's just got it a few days ago, any help would be great.

That's not a GX rear door. Missing the tool kit door and the mesh pocket:

Maybe it's a Prado door? RAV4?

Looks like a Prado, and there's the strut so it must be an OEM fitted part. Might be a direct swap, depending on how it mounts, the doors are obviously a bit different from one another.

That first photo is from a GX460 (2010-2013). The GX470 is basically stuck with what it has. The door and hinge system is completely different.
Also the GX460 does NOT have a strut, that is just an easier more convenient way of locking the door from coming back down, than using the lever. No strut assembly available for the GX.. sorry guys
