GX470 Mark Levinson Aux Volume
I just bought a 2007 GX470 and when I hook up my phone to the aux jack, the volume decreases drastically compared to radio or CD. And yes my phone media volume is max. This was never a problem in any other car.
I have to turn the Lexus Mark L system to the MAX just to get only decent output and its totally unaccpetable.
Any help?
Thanks!!

There are three possibilities, that result would be after you have made some checks. You need to check the resistance of the wires behind the unit to the ECU.
1, Either a Harness needs a replacement - if the resistance is between the radio and the ECU is above 1Ω.( Should be always below 1Ω.). if the wires reading between the RSE ECU and radio to ground The resistance of the wires should be 10 kΩ or higher if they are lower replace the radio.
2. Entertainment ECU requires replacement. ( if the headphones dont work via the AUS jack
3. The radio requires the replacement. ( refer Pt 2)
Hope this helps

I have noticed a similar issue with the CD player. I have never used it before, but yesterday I put in a CD and noticed the levels were about 1/3 of the radio volume. What would cause the cabling or wiring harness to break down like that. Surely the engineers who designed this would not have used wiring that would breakdown so soon.
