Default P0418 / P2445 codes

New to forums and have questions about the aftermarket biPass I have read about some here. What are the long term affects if any after installing the bipass? I see that many have had good luck with it eliminating the codes but curious if it has affected anything else or have had any issues after time. Any help would be helpful as don't really want to tear into the manifold if not really needed.
Thanks much

I have had the bypass in for years and many miles with no ill effects. The bypass literally only tricks the computer to think the outside air temp is super cold which then will stop a fan (under the intake) from blowing air onto the catalytic converters (through an air injection tube in the exhaust) for the first 10 seconds when it is a cold start. Remember, the reason for that fan is to add oxygen (air) to the catalytic so it will heat up faster. Blowing super cold air onto the catalytic would do the opposite and that is why the computer wont run the fan. I know others who have done the bypass and have had no ill effects. I guess you can say one of the long term effects are that you never have to worry about that fan failing again.

^ I second that. And no effects on emissions testing either.
