GX470 hitch
Can someone give me some guidance? I have a 2006 GX470. I am looking to tow a trailer. I don’t know if it has a hitch already installed, I bought it new and thought I had the pre tow package, but was never clear what that included. When I look underneath there is an electrical connector (for the trailer lights presumably) and there is a square metal box in behind the bumper and infront of the spare tire. There are 2 screws under the bumper to remove this cut out. Do I just need the trailer ball and the square thing that the trailer ball goes into, or do I need a complete hitch. U haul is quoting me $200 for the hitch installed. Sorry for non technical jargon. Rgds.

Trailer hitches continue to be one of the most frequently posted topics - there's lots of confusion in large part due to the different configurations Lexus had over the years. Take a look at the post - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...ral-hitch.html. There is a lot of info there. My recommendation is to call Darrel at Sewell Lexus. He's on top of the issue and can help. Sewell Lexus also give a large discount to clublexus memebers - sign up! While the U-haul folks can help with aftermarket you are not going to get the Lexus original. Good luck!
