Online speed / tire conversion says it'll be off by 1-2MPH, so if your speedo shows 55MPH you're really going 56-57MPH. I compared my speedo to speed traps and an app on my iPhone and I didn't see much of a difference at all.

I used the rimsntires.com tire size comparer calculator for the specs. http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp The place I bought the rims on ebay supplied the center cap with the Lexus logo, I was surprised, but very happy with them. I've since sold the GX and moved onto a big honkin' Toyota Tundra 5.7L CrewMax.....does everything we need it to do! The size difference only caused a 3% difference in speedo. So when it says 60mph, it's really 61.8mph. Not big enough deal to even worry about IMHO.

TIA The OEM spoiler has been engineered well, engineered to fit right, last, and also has the side benefit of keeping the rear window nice and clean+clear in the rain. Some fellow owners thought I was nuts, when the Dorman or CarQuest brand were less than $50 each. My trusted mechanic also told me those brands would NEVER EVER last the 13 years the OEM Isuzus did. (And the outers weren't even split, I just decided to have all 4 done at the same time). And it was me, not my mechanic, that suggested and purchased the OEMs, so mechanic had no vested interest in brand. DId the same with the OEM brake pads. First set lasted 80,000 miles up front, and had some more life left. I'm sticking with them. For $125 + $25 shipping, I decided to take the risk on an non-safety related, cosmetic part. To each his own, nothing negative intended. |

Some of the ebay postings provide a clue here, saying that they aren't replacements for the OE part because the mounting holes/locations/methods are different. At the end of the day, I was more indexed on my worry about drilling holes in the truck, and trusted the OEM method & preparation instructions given it was a part that Lexus warrantied for the full warranty of the truck. That means a lot to me personally, and outweighed $$ saved on the part itself. I probably spent close to as much on the various drillbits, rivet gun, 3m body treatment, etc, as I did on the part. At the end of the day, OEM quality for far less than the dealer would have charged to source & install, and I'm sure they wouldn't have been as careful. Even something regarding how to deal with metal shavings is treated with detail in the Lexus directions. Errant metal shavings can cause serious headache downstream if you aren't careful. Cheers. I bought mine last week from the Spoiler Store...$114 unpainted, add $75.00 to paint. I am having it put on today; I didn't get the brake light because I want to buy the red light strip to go on the back of the vehicle. :thumbup:

I did this about 6 years ago...I got it from the spoiler store and just noticed yesterday that the clear coat has flaked off on top really bad. I'm going to buy another one from them and see if they would give me anything back.
