Install LED Brake and Turn Signal Blubs
If you want to install LED type lights into your GX and you don't want to replace the housing, you will first need to stock on the required LED bulb fitments. Please do not look on Sylvania's website or Autozone's website for fitments, as some of them are wrong.
The front turn signals / Daytime Running Lights use two Amber 1156 bulbs.
The rear turn signals use two Amber 7440 Bulbs.
The brake lights use four Red 7443 bulbs.
The GX will hyper-flash if you do not use a resistor. I tried finding a compatible electronic flasher to substitute the blinker, but the GX is the only one in the world with that specific socket. Therefore, you will need four "6 OHM 50 Watt" resistors for the turn signals. Brake lights do not require them. Caution: Resistors can generate a good bit of heat and should not be near plastic or wire. Use some heat proof glue to attach it to the steel body to use as a heat sink.
The LED bulbs of choice, are provided by http://www.v-leds.com/ . I personally purchased these lights after purchasing many less expensive LED bulbs that do not look at all good. If you want a very nice, modern and sophisticated touch, use my suggested bulbs.
For Front turn signals, use http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...48463-1-2.html
For Rear Turn Signals, use http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/P...10365-1-2.html
For Brake lights, use 2 pairs of http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/B...10367-1-2.html
For the resistors, use 2 pairs of http://www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning...-p4783296.html
Take off the rear lights of the GX by unscrewing 2 screws on either side of the interior of the rear door.
You may now replace the bulbs with the appropriate color and fitment on either side.
Now comes the partially tricky part.
Using one resistor for each side, use a pair of pliers and squeeze the resistors black wire and the ground wire (white wire with black stripe in the center of the connector). Next, use the other end of the resistor and splice the resistor wire to the top center wire of the connector (this color may be different on different years, but it is right next to the ground wire). Repeat this for both sides.
The front will be much harder. There are two access points, one from the hood, and one from under the car. These bulbs screw in gently.
I will submit pictures later if anyone needs them.
