XM's are at the equator, thats great if you live in ecuador,
Sirius' while they do go over North America, go down to South America also

Dunno. Just how they are laid out. I can only tell you I had problems with XM, Sirius is working great for me. I can also tell you that friends have told me the same thing.

Lol, here is one for ya. I flew to Tokyo last week. I have a MiFi, the portable XM radio. I turned it on in Live mode just to see what would happen on the airplane. From the upper deck of a 747 over Alaska, flying westbound sitting on the left side of the airplane, I was listing to Live XM. It finally lost the signal between Alaska and Russia.
