I know there's many thread about wipers, we should have a sticky for just wipers, but it's almost 2023, wondering what well-rated silicone wipers people are using?
I see prices vary quite a bit, from $35ea to $30 pairs.
Trico Platinum?
RainX?
Michelin?
Other?
I also see "silicone" and "silicone ceramic". So what the diff? Some advertise the silicone-ceramic works better in winter with snow and stuff.
I’m going on 2 years on the same set of Michelin’s from Costco for ~$7 each. A trick a friend taught me was to periodically clean the rubber blades with WD40. It’ll remove road grime, bugs, and oxidation, and keeps the rubber soft and pliable. Those are the reasons why wipers perform poorly after few months and calls for replacements. Think about it, how many people actually wash/scrub their wiper blades when washing their cars. Now if yours is torn, then yes replace
I do from time to time clean the wipers, but I then condition them with Mother's Protectant.
However, the wipers I have now are already 3yrs old and starting to tear, time for some new ones,
If you still have the factory wiper arms, you can get the inserts from Lexus and they're pretty cheap. Less than $35 for all three.
They do a good job.
