I pulled the ignition lock assembly to replace a seized ignition tumbler. Out of curiosity/stupidity I removed a screw that held a pin in place in the steering wheel dead bolt part of the assembly. Well the pin sucked back into the assembly and I can’t get it back up. It doesn’t seem to make any difference in the function of the assembly but I wanted to learn about it before I reinstall everything.
What function does it serve, and am I okay to leave it recessed?
