Ah Army! My brother-in-law retired as a Colonel from the Army a few years ago.
Unfortunately have only done very light off-roading once or twice on these axles so 99.5% of it is street driving. I hope to get a little time to go once before summer ends. The Cardone's (HD version) seemed well made but since the joints are hidden in the boot, I was not able to compare it against the factory ones I was removing.

Oh okay! So heres my other question. Is the Cardone "remanufactured" option on Rockauto basically with the Toyota/Lexus cores? I thought I read somewhere that they are. If thats the case then they are legit! If im going in for front end axles I will do the uppper control arms/suspension and hubs on both sides.

Yeah man the Army pics the best places .

I don't have the repair paperwork any more but looking it up online shows P/N 51900 60280

https://www.mylparts.com/v-2004-lexu...e-tire-carrier

The note says this is for models without KDSS. The diagram shows the old cable reel style but if you search that part number you'll see it's the chain style. And it cross-matches to the 03-09 4Runner

Isn't there two options for Cardone? One option is reman, the other option was new?

I bought the "new" items, installed and been running w/o issue.

That's correct. I just thought I read somewhere that the remans are OEM toyota/lexus axles. I just dont know if that was a dream or if I actually read it somewhere. haha..

Call Cardone and ask. I don't know where they get cores to reman.
