Just a post on price range for mobile window replacement services. Two days ago, I was cruising down the road and singing along with Steve Miller Band when a big *** vulture flew up from it's road carcass buffet. Bird/windshield collision.

I said all that to say - shop around for windshield replacement quotes. Safelite quoted $460. A regional service was $195. My 04 GX 470 has a rain sensor embedded in the glass. I was asked if I wanted a windshield with or without the sensor. I quickly thought, I bet that's gonna be expensive. Nope, $10 difference.

Sensor not embedded...it’s a silicone type pad that sticks to the glass under the rear view mirror...sometimes that can be reused, depends how easily it peels off old glass

 

Yeah, I doubt it comes with a new sensor. It's probably just got the opening in the black area for the sensor to be able to see through.

just the sensor pad gets replaced if you can’t peel original off...it’s a $15 item....it’s soft like silicon
