Default 06 acceleration problems

It’s very sporadic, but it won’t shift into second gear or accelerate. If I stomp the gas it it doesn’t react then will rev super high, shift and accelerate. I try to pump the gas pedal and seems to help. I clean the throttle body thinking that was getting stuck. Cleaned the air flow sensor also. Not sure if there is a speed or transmission sensor I should be checking or replacing. Please help. Thanks

Do you have a check engine light on the dash?

Nothing on the dash and I have a cheap ODB reader that isn’t kicking anything out either.

Does temperature affect the shifting?

it could be low transmission fluid that causes an issue like that.
Id check the trans fluid level... then take a fluid sample if it’s at the normal level.

Well it got worse today and then check engine light came on. Pulled code and I got p2714. I don’t see a transmission fluid dip stick. Is this a closed system and can I even check it? Did some reading on pressure control solenoid D being stuck. Where is that and is it an easy swap?

It's in the valve body area of the transmission. You'll have to drop the pan to get to it. The bad/good news is you'll have to replace all the fluid (because it'll drain out) so you'll get a fluid change as part of this work.

The filter is in that area too, so given the age of your vehicle, best to put a new one in.

Changing transmission fluid is .. a process. You'll need to track the quantity very closely, and also get it up to proper temperature. Instructions are in the service manual (you can subscribe to get access online). Honestly, you'll want a knowledgeable transmission shop or the dealer for this.
