I need one last piece of advice. I need to know if I can do both sides separate. Or should I say is it beneficial cost wise. I don’t want to end up paying to move something out of the way twice. I’m just trying to spread this out cost wise. Any input is great!

No cost difference. Other than replacing the $5 donut again.

$2K ?? See my post above and have a decent shop weld the old one. As long as the cat isn't throwing p0420 codes, I definitely get it repaired, not replaced. They all crack in the same spot.

I decided if I have the work done to it I’ll keep it after it’s paid for so I’m just going to have them replaced. Parts from Toyota/Lexus are about $650 a side. Then add the labor. I have an Fj40 project that has stalled (long story) so I figure I’d take it from the wife and use it for myself and she likes the 460s....

Your $, but I'd seriously repair the manifold before I sunk that kind of cash into a part that will eventually crack and fail just like the old one did. This is a really common issue, and better repaired than replaced. A good shop- not lexus dealer- would probably weld both sides for the cost of one new manifold.

I know with the 4.7s it is. What was the cost of welding it?

I have $50 in the parts ( oem gasket, donut and Dorman stud kit) and a shop welded it for $30
Now I can hear the passenger side needs it too- not as bad as the drivers- and I'm not going to do that for a long while. I was really scared the studs would snap off, but just the bolts on the tube and heat shield.I got the breaker bar on all the studs but one. And I didn't bother putting the heat shield back on as the bolts snapped.
And again, the passengers side also gets quiet after it warms up.
A good indy shop would probably charge $350- 400 to do this. It was a knuckle buster especially without a lift.
^ This is what I did ^

Thank you! I was being lazy and didn’t want to go back and look. I’m far beyond the warming up and sounding better stage. Its inspection is up in September and the guy probably won’t be generous and pass it.

Update: Got all the parts from Toyota. Roughly $1100. Looking for a place that will do it. A few places didn't want to attempt it.

We have a 2003 4Runner V8 that had the exact same issue. Crack next to #2 cylinder on exhaust manifold. Starting up sounded like something in a trailer park. Occurred at 106k miles. Ordered and new OEM manifold and had it installed; the labor cost was $468. Much quieter now!!!
