Another dash thread - I have an 04 gx 470 and a local junkyard has a pristine dash from an 05. Will this match up with mine? If that fails, is obtaining a dash from lexus possible? All threads I find on the acquisition seem to be dated or from the warranty period. I am doing the work myself. Any go-to guide on this repair? I'm surprised there isn't a video series on youtube with this replacement given its ubiquity.

 

I see five different part numbers for p/n 55401E

Four of them seem to be different based on color (black vs. ivory) and audio option (Mark Levinson vs. regular). The last one says it is for Sandalwood trim, which I don't think I've ever seen.

I would think that you could get one through your dealer, and if you give them your VIN they can match up the correct part number (they might do this for you so you can determine if the parts-yard one is a match). So far as changing it out yourself -- you had better be pretty darned good at interior work...
