Gas by wire?
Has anyone noticed the gas pedal uses some new design?
It appears to be a pedal interface with a wire coming out of it. The brake is still a mechanical lever going through the firewall.

I think most if not all 2003 Lexus models are throttle by wire. The brakes are still mechanical, the new MB E class I think has brake by wire too, but Car and Driver guys said it was too isolated in feel...not good for "spirited driving".
On a side note a friend of mine has a bimmer with throttle by wire and it feels ratchety...(not smooth uptake/fuel delivery) the car seems to lurch off the line no matter how gently you hit the throttle.
