Default Metaltech or arnott rear coils

Hi Guys, I am looking to convert my Prado 120 VX 3.0 Diesel from air to coils. Looking to keep the height stock and keeping the OEM rear and front in place. I have been searching the net to find the best possible conversion kit that fits what I am looking for. My bags failed and got rid of the system. I am dont do any towing nor do I load up 600lbs of bricks in my trunk. I am looking to get as close as possible to the original ride quality pre-airbag failure. Can anyone suggest which brands would make the most sense in my case? Metaltech or Arnott? Who has done the conversion with any of these brands and how is the ride quality? Oh any BTW I dont do any off roading either

Someone will come in here and say do a search, there is a lot of info already. But I am also in the same boat as you. What would be good to specifically know is if there is a kit out there that DOESN’T lift the rear. Have read a lot of threads that show after pictures where the **** end of the GX is sitting much higher than the front, which is worse than before the conversion.

Anyone out out there have luck retaining all stock height in the rear with a coil conversion? If so, what was your set up and post a pic to review... I have one bag going bad and know to replace in pairs, figure going coils may be a good choice now.

I'll be doing the conversion with the SSO kit and FJC rear springs, keep an eye open for the results in the next few weeks. I'll take some before/after measurements and pics.

will stay posted. Interested to see the results. If possible, could you measure the rear height (from ground to center wheel well) before and compare to after?

I would love to see the result as well. My rear suspension starting to make a clunking noise over bumps and the rear is harsh going over bump as well.

Once you do the conversion, if the springs are too high, order KYB factory 4runner springs and use those - should work.

Hello, I just put the MetalTech stage 3 coil conversion kit on today. Went ok. I ended up taking the sway bar end link mounts off and the shocks to get the rear end to drop enough so I didn't need to use a spring compressor. Ride quality is pretty good with the springs. The ride height I feel is a bit lower in the rear now. I found a leaking rear shock so that might have something to do with the height too. Here are some pictures, wish I had more but I was pretty dirty today.
