Altitude Display Calibration & NAV
Is anyone else's altitude display calibrated accurately? I know that it can be set up or down in 50-ft increments but here in Miami we have no mountains. I can't figure out why it sometimes randomly displays altitudes between -50 to 200?
Also, is anyone's NAV outdated already. In my area, every exit is wrong on I-95 since they were renumbered 2-years ago.

The altimeter is based on barometric pressure and will vary with pressure changes. Like most altimeters used on aircraft you need to compensate for sea level pressure changes to get a accurate measurement. That is just a way of saying you need to reset the altitude each day to a know value if you want the thing to be accurate while driving.
