16k is way too high. KBB private party value for Montana (closest I could get to AB) is $8k USD for fair condition (you said it had lots of dents and needed maintenance)
Assuming the 16k is USD and not CAD, it's highly unlikely they'll come down by half. I would keep looking.

I would take one with 140k that has been properly maintained over one with 105k that has been treated with negligence any day of the week. These are extremely well built vehicles and will last a long time if treated properly.
