Front caliper piston won't retract

After getting the front caliper off, I retracted the outboard pistons using the old brake pad and a C clamp. When I tried to retract the inboard pistons, the top piston retracted just fine with the old brake pad and C clamp, but the bottom piston will not retract. I have opened the bleed valve and squeezed the bottom piston with the C clamp as hard as I could, but it will not budge. With the one stuck piston, I cannot replace the inboard brake pad. Any ideas? Am I going to have to replace the entire caliper?

Your going to need to rebuild the caliper or replace it. The piston and cylinder is damaged. It won't work.

Thanks co4wheel. That's what I was afraid of. I assume it's best to replace both left and right calipers at the same time? Is there anything special about replacing the calipers? I know you have to bleed the brakes lines after getting everything back together.

Nay, should be easy enough.

I'd replace only the seized caliper, as it's the only one with an issue. I'm all for overkill, but if it ain't broke...

Exactly, just fix the damaged one.
