Default Soft Breaks

I just purchased a 04 GX 470 the breaking system seems to have a lot of travel and are very sponge. I live in MO and it pasted the state inspection. I check fluid and it is good. It has the electronic breaking and 4 wheel disk. Is this normal or should I seek Lexis dealer help.
I also have a GS430 and the breaks are right there. Any advise.
Added info: I do not feel any pulsating in the pedal but there is a pulsation in the SUV when it coming to a stop. Feels as if the rotors may need to be turned but the pulsation is not hard it is smooth

It sounds like your brake lines need to be replaced, they get soft and start expanding under pressure after a certain period. I would just take it to the Lexus dealer(or a local shop you trust) and tell them about your issue and advise them to check the brake lines because you suspect that could be the issue. At least the tech will pay attention to the brake lines if you mention it specifically. That's my advice.

I purchased an '07 a few months ago and Lexus replaced the pads all around and machined the rotors today under their 6 month warranty, only had to bring it in 3 times for the same problem(they kept saying the brakes were fine, but I knew better, they just did not want to replace them under warranty). The brake pedal pulsated(warped rotors) and a odd noise(which sounded like the ABS was kicking in when it was not supposed to) happened sometimes, brakes feel great now.

soft brake feel normally indicates contaminated brake fluid or air in the system. The first thing I would do before doing anything severe is to get the brake system flushed. I believe the dealer charges a little over $100 for a complete flush.

If there is a more serious issue such as leaking lines, the dealer would detect that while flushing the system.
