Hello all!

I'm just wondering if 16 inch rims will clear and fit. I want to know if anyone on here has tried putting 16 inch rims with little or no modifications.

The wheels are coming off a Tacoma and I'm aware that some Tacomas/4Runners run stock OEM 16's as well.

I'm trying to put these TE37X 16x8 -20 offset/backspace
I'm replacing the tires to 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain.

Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.

However, you really NEED to compare the offsets of the new & old wheels so you don't wind up with wheels that stick out too far or stick in and interfere with the suspension. OTOH, since the new wheels came off a Tacoma, they MIGHT be fine. Our '06 Tacoma has 16" factory wheels on it.

BTW- Unique looking wheels. Don't see many (any?) blue wheels here in Colorado.

Thanks RickC5, I calculated it tire chart comparison and its only 3.6% difference.

It's only .7875 of an inch further out than mattbeeezy's wife's GX, which is a slight difference.

I guess my only concern is clearing the brake calipers with 16's.

I've searched for these wheels but its like 2-6 month wait from japan. They weigh in around 17-18lbs each.
The magnesium blue TE37x should blend in well with my wife's nautical blue metallic GX.

 

I'd ask folks over in the gen 4 forum on toyota 4runner org about fitment. Make sure you're getting info for the 4runner sport, which shares the same front brakes calipers w/the GX. They've got a lot more experience fitting different wheels than we do.

Given our larger brakes, my guess is it'll be a tight fit and will depend on the exact 16" wheel. You might just have to try it.
