Default Another Rim Question - re: offset

It looks like FJ 17" wheels have a differential offset of either 7mm or 10mm compared to stock GX 17" wheels. I'm okay with either GX or FJ wheels as an extra set, so it would really come down to the best deal (would consider Tundra/4 Runner wheels too; I just like the OEM alloy thing, especially at the right price). There are some GX wheels in LA for $325 right now, so that would do me if the timing's right. I plan to go with a relatively aggressive M/T tread, probably 265/70/17, specifically for off-roading and snow. Keeping the Michelins on the original wheels for everyday use. I plan no suspension mods, but want pretty close to the tallest tire that can handle full axle travel with my KDSS and the worst-case steering input. Do I need the FJ offset, or would either work?

I'm running the Tundra 17" chrome 5 split star with 265/70/17's and they fit without rubbing. The offset for the GX is 25mm compared to the 15mm offset Tundra wheels, Which pushes out the wheels by 10mm- Not noticable. The 265/70 tires IMO look nicer because it fills out the wheelwell a little more. There are FJ wheels/tires in the classified, check it out, they definetly fit.

You beat me to it ROSCO, yes the FJ wheels have a 15mm offset giving that little extra room needed for a slightly bigger tire. I thought the Tundra wheels were 18mm but no real need to split hairs on 3mm
