Default Tire pressure for heavy load

From reading the forums, I understand that the recommended tire pressure is 32 psi for normal driving. Does anyone know if there is a recommended pressure for a loaded vehicle? I know the tire pressure sticker usually will have a separate recommendation for that condition. I have a "new to me" GX coming my way but will be driven 1000 miles and with a full load of cargo.

Haha... I wish... No but I have some large equipment like big heavy home theater subwoofer, several cases of wine, other miscellaneous items... probably several hundred pounds total weight. Both my Porsche and BMW have higher pressure recommendations if you have the car loaded with max passengers and/or full of luggage. They generally recommend about 5-7 psi higher psi with a heavy load. The sticker inside the driver door jamb usually has a specific number. I normally wouldn't care but this is a long distance trip.

Look on the side of the tire, you will find the max recommended pressure. It is safe to use the max pressure if needed. If you put weight in the vehicle and ride is affected just increase the pressure up to max as needed. I run as close to max all the time (without harsh ride 38 to 40psi). I travel at speed and low pressure gives a sloppy ride.

I towed a boat full of crap with my GX full of crap about 800+ miles each way through the desert in July with 110 degree ambient temps (Sacramento, CA to Page, Arizona).

The stock Michellins are rated for 35psi max. So, I filled them to 35psi cold. I had no issues at all.

I would say go for the max cold pressure rating on your tire if you have the Michellins....worked well for me.
