Default 04 GX Battery/Starter

My 04 GX has never had a single hiccup, but parked it last night and this morning the rig is totally dead. Try to jump it and it just clicks, doesn't even attempt to turn over.. any suggestions? I will go and try and replace the battery.. but even a jump and it just clicks....?

The crank hold feature on the GX requires a lot of juice to start the engine. Typically, you will need to try to charge up the battery before attempting to start the truck, since a quick jump start won't work.

I recently replaced the battery in my GX. I noticed that the car's spec seems to call for a battery that can output 710+ amps, cold cranking. I'm no expert, but I'm going to guess that if you're trying to jump start it with a weaker battery, it ain't going to work. Try getting a comparable battery with which you may jump start, or go get a new battery - if your battery is indeed 6 years old, then it lasted quite awhile. Mine seems to have conked out after 5 years.

It is a dead battery. That is what the GX does when the battery dies. Mine was dead when I picked it up at the dealer when I bought it when it was new. Seems the prep team left the door open overnight and killed the battery. They tried to jump it but it did not work, they had to charge the battery for a while before they could jump it. I replaced the battery last year when the lights started to dim and it took longer to start.

Looks like I learned a new thing about the GX. I bought the rig new in October of 04 and the battery was never changed. I never had any trouble. ever. I drove the car just fine and the next morning it was dead. Didn't leave anything on at all. Turns out the battery was totally dead... what a way for it to die. New battery from Lexus at $120 and good as new. When the truck wouldn't take a jump.. that's where I got confused considering most cars I have dealt with will take a jump and start, even if the battery is dead.
